Shower Arm Clearance Required
This is the
amount of clearance needed around the wall outlet to install the
shower arm.
Since the
shower arms install by screwing them into the wall, several inches
of clearance may be required. The most common obstacle to interfere
with installation is the ceiling, but other items like built-in
soap holders and handles can also be a problem. For example, the
Deluxe Riser shower arm, our largest shower arm, requires an 11
1/2" radius to install. If the wall outlet is only 10"
from the ceiling, it would not be possible to install this shower
arm since it would hit the ceiling when screwing it into the wall
not be able to rotate.
